Rational choice of antibiotic therapy in children with acute respiratory infections of the upper respiratory tract

Acute respiratory infections are leading in the structure of infectious pathology children. Despite high importance viruses etiology acute infections, role bacterial pathogens remains important. Features current course, frequency complications, unreasonable prescription antibacterial drugs and risk developing drug-resistant forms microorganisms require adherence to algorithms for timely diagnosis rational use drugs. In article, on example analysis clinical cases, main stages choosing initial antibiotic therapy upper tract children an outpatient setting considered. first case, principles differential viral otitis media, risks adverse outcome considered, indications prescribing systemic preschoolers identified. The second case demonstrates diagnosing sinusitis, possible masks disease, selection a starting drug. third shows etiological diversity tonsillopharyngitis children, defined therapy.
